About the Assessment

The Centered Life Congregational Assessment Tool asks members to rate their satisfaction with the congregation’s efforts to equip and send them into their daily lives. The tool includes 32 questions and a demographic survey.

The Assessment Tool is based on Congregational Pathways that were identified over a period of five years in partnership with members of six congregations and a non-profit organization called Seeing Things Whole. The Pathways represent all the different ways congregations can encourage individuals to grow in the development of their own callings. They are:

  • Raising Awareness
  • Unique Strengths and Abilities
  • Meaningful Worship
  • Faith Practices
  • Roles and Structures

The Pathways work together to create an environment where members of congregations:

  • Understand that they are gifted for ministry
  • Know how to use their gifts
  • Are supported with worship, educational, and ministry opportunities
  • Are encouraged and recognized by the congregation as they carry out God’s work in the world

The survey results are reported to the congregation’s leadership and pastors. The results are then used to choose resources and create experiences that will help awaken the possibilities for personal and organizational callings of all in the congregation.
