Idea: Peace Gardens
back

Whether in your congregation or your neighborhood, invite children to discover God's ongoing care for creation through gardening:

“Thank you, God, for the soil; thank you, God, for the sun; thank you, God, for the water; thank you for the seed.”

Together, cultivate a small plot of land, sharing God's bounty with neighbors, food shelves, and the congregation.  Read about a group in Salina, KS did just that:

"Growing with God through gardening: How one congregation taught its children and reached its neighbors through a peace garden" by Kristin Van Tassel

Centered Life helps congregations cultivate centered lives: lives of belonging, identity, and purpose centered in Christ.
